What is geopolitics?

What is geopolitics?… This was the ambitious subject of Alexandre Del Valle’s 4 hours conference at the APM.

4 exciting and rich hours we would have like to extend as this topic raises questions about the impact of geopolitics on the economy. In my case, as a professional and teacher in business tourism, how many times have I seen the economy of a destination switch!

A better understanding of the interconnections between strategy / politics / geography would allow us to better manage relationships with partner countries, in a good win-win perspective and risks mitigation.

I’ll let you refer to this brilliant article published by Alexander Del Valle on his blog: http://blog.alexandredelvalle.com/archives/37-From-the-strategy-to-the-geopolitics,-several-elements-of-a-multidisciplinary-approach.html

Alexandre Del Valle is an essayist, geopolitical scientist, co-founder of the Observatoire géopolitique de la Méditerranée (based in Cyprus), Member of the Conseil de Rédaction de la Revue française de Géopolitique Outre Terre.

A really exciting conference…

As a member of the apm, I had the opportunity to attend to Christian Monjou’s conference entitled “Power, between authority and legitimacy,” on April 7th 2010, at the Clos des Arts.

This conference, aimed at business leaders, was focused in defining leadership through communication, organization, knowledge, vision and emotional intelligence.

As an art-specialist, Christian Monjou had choosen to illustrate these concepts through pictorial artworks from the XV to XVIII centuries, allowing us to discover a quite amazing symbolic.
